  The year 2000 and beyond

This rich multidisciplinary history has created an institution which has made its distinctive mark on the Australian higher education landscape. The strengths of the arts and sciences, technology and the humanities have complemented one another, providing the basis for innovative joint degrees which enable today’s students to become the broadly based graduates required by the next century.

The University’s four divisions offer the widest range of professional education programs of any university in South Australia. They are Business and Enterprise; Education, Arts and Social Sciences; Health Sciences; Information Technology, Engineering and the Environment. Programs are based on areas of research strength and community need and support priority areas for local and regional development.

From a mixture of youth and tradition has grown the University of South Australia - progressive, innovative, responsive to change, and in touch with community needs.
